Baby's first Malbec

So I was, up until about 15 minutes ago, a Malbec virgin. Tragic, I know, and at 23! I feel like the oenophile version of an old maid. But I have since broken my Malbec cherry and will review my first ever. You're here for history, folks.

Tapiz Malbec 2005
Mendoza, Argentina

Tart and rich, with just the right amount of sweetness (note: I'm not huge into sweet wines). I pick up notes of black cherry and oak, but like I've mentioned before, my palette is not that sophisticated. A little alcohol heavy, but at 13.8%, not bad at all in regard to the overall taste. However, this is altogether enjoyable, and for the reasonable $9.99 I paid at BevMo, I would definitely repurchase.
